Recently there was a hoot about 'bottled Irish Air' being sold to Americans. Apparently one Irish-Man found a niche in the US Market for exploiting their sentiments and trigger-happy consumerism and believe it or not, a 'friend' actually sold an empty Ballygowan bottle on e-bay as 'genuine bottled Irish air' with a yarn about the Wicklow Mountains and got $7 for it! However unbelievable it seems, we are well known for having some of the greenest landscape, purist rivers and crystal clear air - and some of the most enterprising minds. Regardless, $7 is a lot for a single puff 'genuine bottled Irish air'.

Recently I've been really interested in and have been checking out ways to combat obesity. I'm not obese, but I do need to shed some pounds and sculpture by body. I joined a gym and enjoy spending as much time as possible there. You will know that are two types of exercise you can do - aerobic and anaerobic. Jogging, walking, cycling, swimming - these are types of exercises improve oxygen consumption by the body and are performed at moderate levels of intensity for extended periods of time. This is ok for burning fat. But its aerobic exercise - sprinting, weight lifting etc. - that actually increase muscle, which in turn burns fat and tones the body on its own. Anaerobic exercises are intense enough to trigger anaerobic metabolism and actually, a little anaerobic exercise goes a long way.
